- Remind the child with eczema to apply moisturizer after washing his or her hands and whenever the skin feels dry
- Use non-toxic paints, markers, and glues for art projects
- Maintain a comfortable room temperature and humidity level if possible
- Look for signs of emotional stress; implement quiet times and positive distractions when necessary
- Reassure other children and parents that eczema is not contagious
- Involve the child with eczema in all classroom and recreational activities
